📰 Mpox (monkeypox) Alert: what you need to know and how to stay safe ➡️

Should you worry about mpox?

The World Health Organization has declared mpox a global health emergency. Despite only 10 cases in the Philippines since 2022, it's still important to know how to protect yourself and your family.

How can you tell if it's mpox,

chickenpox (bulutong-tubig)

or measles?

Mpox can spread from animals

and between people through

contact with infected fluids.
You can tell mpox from chickenpox

and measles by its pimple-like rash

that often starts on the face and

includes swollen lymph nodes,

which aren't common in

chickenpox or measles.

Watch out for these signs and symptoms!

How can you protect yourself?

Wear a mask, avoid close contact with infected people, and practice good hygiene

Don’t share personal items, and avoid touching contaminated objects
